Derek Phillips is beginning to build up the leagues at the new Bryant Community Center at Bishop Park.[more]
With three basketball courts at the Center, although one is strictly for the Bryant Boys and Girls Club, Phillips has planed a youth basketball league that will start on Jan. 11.
"This is not to conflict with the regular youth basketball league already here in Bryant," Phillips said.
Registration for the league is from Nov. 8 through Dec. 5. There will be a skills test on Dec. 6 for K-2nd at 6:15 p.m., Dec. 7 for the seventh grade league at 6:15 p.m., Dec. 9 for the eighth and ninth grade leagues at 6:15 p.m. and 10th through 12th graders play at 7:30 p.m.
There will be league coach's meeting on Nov. 15 for K-2nd at 6 p.m., Nov. 16 for seventh grade at 6 p.m., Nov. 18th for the eighth and ninth at 6 p.m. and the 10th through 12th graders coach at 7 p.m.
There will be basketball clinics held at the gym for players on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. and for coaches upstairs on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.
Registration fee for members is $30 and $40 for non-members.
