Bryant's Travis Wood continued his domination of the Southern League on Sunday with seven shutout innings against the Chattanooga Lookouts. Wood improved to 9-3 this season and lowered his league-leading earned run average to a miniscule 1.21. He walked no one, struck out eight and allowed just four hits in the Carolina Mudcats' (Class AA, Cincinnati Reds) 6-1 win.
In addition, Wood picked off one of the few runners he allowed to reach base. And, at the plate, he singled in a run to help his team's cause.
By winning his ninth straight decision, the lefty set a new Carolina Mudcats record.

T. Wood, congrats on a great season so far.
Looking forward to duck hunting this winter (yes, I will go more than last year). Will be fun to listen to these stories in the blind.
