Brittney Burns, 36, of North Little Rock has been arrested for possession with intent to deliver Methamphetamine, three counts of theft by receiving and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, the Bryant Police Department Narcotics Unit along with the Criminal Investigation Division received information of a drug transaction that was to take place in the Lowe’s parking lot. Officers set up in the parking lot and observed a grey Hyundai Sonata, which matched the information that was given to them, pull into the northwest side of the lot and complete a transaction. Officers then moved in with their units and arrested Burns.
While officers were making the arrest, they noticed two kids in the car with her, a 9-year old boy and a 17-year old girl. The kids were taken out of harm’s way immediately and transported to the Bryant PD where their mother came and picked them up.
Burns was taken into custody and charged. She is still in custody at the Saline County Detention Center with a $5000 bond. According to police, Burns was arrested in January 2012 on drug charges while she worked at Maumelle High School.
