Ten different players contributed to the scoring led by Cameron Hunter’s 14 points as the Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School surged to a 42-24 win over the Bryant Blue Hornets seventh grade team of Bethel Middle School on Thursday at Bethel.
Connor Coleman added 6 points and Gavin Brunson 4 for Bryant White. Hayden Purdy led Blue with 8 points. Austin Schroeder had 6, Brayden Godwin 4.
Bryant White forged a 13-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Purdy accounted for 6 of Bethel’s points in the period.
By halftime, the lead was 24-12. Clay Curtis hit the game’s only 3-pointer during the period and Coleman had his first 3 points on a free throw and a field goal.
The lead ballooned to 39-20 going into the fourth quarter with Hunter scoring 8 points in the period, while Godwin had both of his baskets.
Austin Ledbetter and Aiden Adams finished with 3 points each along with Curtis for White. Joshua Turner, Kannon Allison and Trey Miller added 2 each with Deaundre Benson pitching in with a free throw.
For Blue, Ryan Riggs and Landon Nelson scored 2 apiece. Garet Wilson and Hayden Schrader each hit a free throw.
Bryant White concluded its pre-holiday schedule. Its next outing will be Jan. 5, 2016, at Cabot Red. Bryant Blue heads to North Little Rock on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
