More than 20 teams of middle and high school VEX Robotics students and mentors will compete at Bryant Middle School on Saturday, Jan. 23 in the VEX Regional Tournament. The competition will begin at 10 a.m., and will continue to approximately 4 p.m.
In the VEX competition, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Robots are designed to score the most points possible in qualification matches, elimination matches, and Skills Challenges. Classroom STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more.
Six teams from Bryant Schools will compete on Saturday: two from Bryant High School; two from Bryant Middle School; and two from Bethel Middle School. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional and state levels. Bryant High School and Bryant Middle School both competed at VEX Worlds last April.
