The Bryant High School baseball B team added two more wins to its total this spring, sweeping a doubleheader from Watson Chapel on Monday, April 6, 8-2 and 10-3.
Bo Stitch and Tyler Nelson combined to stop Chapel’s Wildcats in the first game. In the second, Nelso teamed with Tryce Schalchlin, making his first appearance after rehabbing from a shoulder injry, and Ryan Weng.
“Tryce did an outstanding job, throwing strikes and getting outs quickly,” commented coach Mark Jelks. “He could only throw one inning due to continuing rehab. Ryan Weng worked the final two innings and did a great job throwing the defense outs to end it.
“At the plate, we did a much better job in the second game getting the ball down so we could get on top and drive it,” Jelks added. “Coach (Frank) Fisher and I were very pleased with today’s games and look forward to the final weekend for the B team at home against Lake Hamilton at 11 a.m., for a doubleheader.”
The B team improved to 11-1 on the season with the sweep.
