PEARCY —The Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School were out-gunned 18-12 in the third quarter as the Lake Hamilton Wolves seventh grade team handed them a 40-30 loss on Tuesday night.
In a B game, Bryant White prevailed 16-7.
The Wolves established an 8-5 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 17-12 advantage at the half in the A game. The third-quarter burst made it 35-24 going into the fourth quarter.
Kajuan Robinson led the Hornets with 14 points. Blaise Smith added 10, Patrick Dickinson 4.
“This was our toughest game of the year so far, playing on the road against a very good Lake Hamilton team,” said Hornets coach Heath Long. “There were some times that we got caught up playing their game a little, which cost us. However, we did a pretty good job of getting the ball inside and we look forward to playing them again at the end of the year.”
Bryant White will conclude the season at home against the Wolves on Feb. 11.
In the B game, Logan Grant scored 4 points, Jakob Neel 2 and Logan Catton 1 for the victors.
The Hornets’ next outing will be a part of a tournament at Bauxite this Saturday.
