For the past few years, Chris Tipton has made a difference in Ward 2.
Citizens have come to him for requests, complaints and suggestions to take to the City Council and Tipton has not let them down. In his past term, he was instrumental in getting flood relief to this area of the city and relaying roads around Midtowne Bryant among many other issues and he's help to resolve them within the city government.
On Tuesday, residents of his ward re-elected Tipton to the Bryant City Council.[more]
"I am very grateful for the support of the Ward 2 voters," Tipton said. "I believe that they know that I will follow up on their concerns and issues. They also know that I will return their phone calls and respond to them in a prompt manner. I may not always have the answer they want or like, but they get an honest answer from their representative. I am passionate about serving Ward 2 and the city. I believe the voters in Ward 2 respected that and voted accordingly."Titpon defeated Ward 2, Position 1 alderman Ed Collins, who gave up his seat of Position 1 to run for Position 2.
Tipton won the election 917 to 537.
"I am hoping for a better economy so that we can direct some finances to the rest of the flooding issues throughout the city as well as the cities infrastructure," Tipton said.
"I simply try to remember what I want from the people I look to for help, and that is someone who will listen to my problem, try and fix it, or tell me honestly why they can or can’t do it,” he added. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of this term and will work diligently to move Bryant forward."
