Thompson, East place at State competition

LITTLE ROCK — For the third time in his high school career, Bryant senior Kyle Thompson placed at the 7A/6A State wrestling tournament held at Jake Stephens Center at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday.

Freshman Garith East also placed in the top 6.

The Hornets, as a team, finished 15^th in the competition.

Thompson, competing in the 160-pound division, won by decision in the runner-up match to finish third. He had pinned his first opponent on Friday.

East wound up fifth in the 132-pound division.

In addition, Ben Adair and Nathan Mayes competed for the Hornets.
