Eddie Tanner, a native of Columbia, S.C., has been added to the coaching staff of[more] Diamond Sports of Bryant.
Currently an assistant coach at Catholic High School in Little Rock, Tanner helped his high school team compete in three state championship games. He was picked up in the 1980 Major League draft as a shortstop and spent the next 12 years playing in the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, and Cincinnati Reds organizations.
Tanner has played every position on the field, with the exception of catcher. While playing for the Arkansas Travelers, he was chosen for as a Texas League All-Star two years in a row. A successful youth league coach for over 20 years, Tanner led his 14 and under team to a National Championship title.
"Eddie's background in all levels of baseball certainly quality him as one of the area's best coaches,” said Pat Harrison, Diamond Sports owner and director of instruction. “He is a skilled teacher, with not only older players, but the younger players as well. Any player can benefit from one-on-one time with Eddie Tanner."
Tanner is available to give baseball pitching, baseball hitting and baseball fielding lessons at Diamond Sports in Bryant.
