A 13-2 run in the second quarter and a 9-2 finish to the game sparked the Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team to a 37-15 win over Lighthouse Charter School of Jacksonville at the Bryant Middle School gym on Tuesday.
Kajuan Robinson scored 16 points to pace the Hornets. Blaise Smith finished with 6, Logan Grant 5 and Patrick Dickinson 4.
The Hornets led 8-4 after a quarter but, by halftime, had built a 21-6 advantage. It was 28-13 going into the fourth quarter.
“We were a little sluggish at the start, which is somewhat expected for the first game after Christmas break,” said Bryant White head coach Heath Long. “Overall, we executed pretty well and handled their pressure pretty well when they came out and pressed us. It was a good win to get us going for the second half of the season.”
The Hornets’ A and B teams are scheduled to play at Lake Hamilton on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
