Two Bryant City Aldermen, Danny Steele and Chris Tipton, are taking different avenues in hopes of keeping their seat on the City Council in Tuesday's election.
Steele is facing Alan Kays in Ward 1, Alderman Chris Tipton of Ward 2 is facing off with fellow Alderman Ed Collins.[more]
"There has been no change for me," Tipton said. "I am leaving it to the people to decide if I have done a good job or not."
For the last nine weeks, Steele has been active as an independent candidate.
"I have financed my campaign myself and conducted all of the door knocking, sign placement, hand shaking, question answering, baby kissing and dog petting myself," Steele said. "My friends have helped by talking to their friends and letting me know where to place a sign or a citizen who might have a question. To those friends I am most grateful."
Steele has lived in Bryant for 27 years and says he is knowledgeable about the city and most if its needs and problems.
"My goal for the next two years is to address those needs to the very best of my ability and the capacity of the city," he said. "There are always challenges and needs in a city and it is an everlasting job to attend to those challenges and needs."
