LITTLE ROCK — Along with the announcement that the Class 7A State basketball tournament will be played at Van Buren, the Arkansas Activities Association announced the venues for the State competitions for the spring sports and for the 2010 volleyball season this fall.
Van Buren’s Clair Bates Arena will be the site for the basketball tourney March 2-6 with the finals to be played at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs.[more]
In the spring, the Class 7A State baseball tournament has been awarded to North Little Rock’s Burns Park while the 7A State softball tourney will be contested at Cabot. Both will be May 14-17. As has been the case in recent years, both sports will hold their State finals at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville May 21-22.
The AAA also announced that the swimming and diving championships will be held at the U of A Feb. 26-27.
Fayetteville High School will be the site of the Class 7A State track and field championship meet April 29-May 1. The Meet of Champs will be held at Lake Hamilton, May 8.
The soccer season will conclude with the Class 7A State tournament in Rogers from April 30 to May 3, with the championship at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville either May 7 or 8.
In the fall, Bentonville will host the Class 7A State volleyball tournament Oct. 26-28 with the finals of all classifications in Bentonville on Oct. 30.
