The Bryant White Lady Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School improved to[more] 7-0 on the season with a 24-19 win over Cabot South at the BMS gym Tuesday.
Raven Loveless and Breleigh Simmons each scored 7 points, Maddie Stephens had 6 and Jackie Greenwood 4 in the victory.
“We were a little rusty in the first half because we hadn't played since Dec. 17,” noted Bryant White coach Kenny Hays. “We turned the ball over too many times in the first half but we settled down and took better care of the basketball in the second half.
“I thought that the team did a good job defensively all game long and we did a better job rebounding than in past games,” he added. “The girls are continuing to play hard each game and we are working hard to get better each day in practice.”
The Lady Hornets will try to make it 8-0 when they travel to Lake Hamilton for their next game on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
