WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? I had a little Beeny Baby frog, a little pink frog.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? I want to go to ASU and get my pre-med degree.
OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO’S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW? I guess the rest of my family. They try to give me advice on what to do after high school and what not to do.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TRACK? Just being active.
EVENT: Pole vault.
WHAT APPROACH DO YOU TAKE TO YOUR EVENT? I just try to block everything out of my head and think to do whatever I can to get over the next level, take it one level at a time.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? The season has been my best so far. I’ve had a few setbacks this past meet but I’m hoping to get over them.
WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? Probably winning the Bryant Invitational, and me getting fifth.
WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? We just need to keep working like we are. Coach has said that a lot of us are working hard and I think we all need to do that, must keep working as a team.
TALK ABOUT YOUR EVENT NOW; WHAT DO THINK IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET? WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? I’m pretty good about, when coach tells me to change something, a technique, I’m pretty good about changing it and having that in my head once I’ve done it a few times. It becomes a habit pretty quick. I’m just really good at fixing things that he tells me I’m doing wrong. I try to listen and take his advice on everything because he knows more than I do.
WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE ON IN PRACTICE? My speed, right now, is probably something — I’m not very fast — that I have to work on. Keeping my speed up so I can get up high enough.
WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING TRACK AT BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE? How much fun it is when they say we win and, even if we didn’t win, we’re all still pretty pumped up. The very last relay in a meet is my favorite because we’re all just out there running around screaming for everyone.
