WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? I had a little pull-behind dog that would bob up and down.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? College, probably for education, Henderson State.
OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? My uncle, Michael Waite. He’s been a children’s pastor my entire life and he’s been the guy that’s taught me to love Jesus and go to church and do the right things.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT FOOTBALL? Get to hit people.
POSITION: Guard, tackle and tight end, whatever they need.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? As a team this year, we’ve got a really good chance to be very, very good this year. We’ve got an insane amount of talent and the ability to work together this year that we’ve kind of lacked in the past.
WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? It’s going to take a family-type aspect. You’ve got to play for the person beside you. If you play for yourself, you won’t get anywhere in this game. It’s a team sport. If every person plays for the person beside them, we’ll do well.
INDIVIDUALLY, WHAT ABOUT YOUR GAME ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT ABOUT? Probably the fact that I’m one of the people that I will play for the person beside me. Physically, I’m quick enough but as far as being anything other than physical, I play for the person next to me and if we lose, we lose as a team. If we win, we win as a team and I don’t want my teammates to have to go through a loss.
WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE? Probably, just mentally, there’s a few things here and there I forget about. We’ve got so many plays so I’ve got to be able to remember the plays better. That’s probably what I have to work on hardest.
AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING FOOTBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? Coach (Paul) Calley; he’s been just an awesome person. Really, it’s not just coaching football to him. It’s really changing young persons’ lives.
