FAVORITE TV SHOW: The Office
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? Probably, Hot Wheels.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? Go to college at either Harding or Lipscomb. I’m not sure yet what I want to major in.
OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? Probably my brothers, especially Kyle since he’s only two years apart from me; he set a lot of examples with the way he was involved in high school. He was the leader of the student section and was just really involved. So I’ve kind of followed that.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT FOOTBALL? Probably just getting to hit people.
POSITION: Safety
WHAT DO YOU FEEL LIKE IS YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY ON THE FIELD? Basically don’t let the other team score; don’t let the other team get behind me. I’m kind of the last line of defense.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? I think it’s been good. I think we’ve had some ups and downs. We’ve had games where we’ve played well and games where we didn’t. We can improve definitely.
WHEN THE TEAM’S PLAYING WELL, WHAT’S THE KEY TO THAT? I think it’s both the offense and defense playing well and kind of feeding off of each other.
WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? I think it’s all of us coming together as a team and then seeing ourselves as a team and not a group of individuals.
WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON SO FAR? Winning the Salt Bowl and continuing the tradition of us beating Benton seven or eight years in a row, whatever it is now.
INDIVIDUALLY, WHAT ABOUT YOUR GAME ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT ABOUT? Probably playing the ball in the air. I’m pretty good at either knocking the ball down or getting interceptions. So I’m pretty confident in that.
WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE? Open-field tackling, just making sure I break down and don’t let anybody juke me out.
AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING FOOTBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? I’ll remember the people — the coaches and teammates and the time we had together. Not necessarily the games but just messing around in the locker room and just that bond that we all have.
