OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO’S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW? My grandpa. I just look up to him every day.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TRACK? I love the hard workouts.
EVENTS? I run in the 4×800 meter relay and the open 800.
WHAT APPROACH DO YOU TAKE TO YOUR EVENTS? Just go in with a focused mind and run as hard as I can.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? Personally, I’m a little down this season. I haven’t had as good a season as I had last year. As a team, I think we have a more solid team than last year. I think a lot of guys have stepped up and they’re running real well.
WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? Winning our home meet. That was awesome.
WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? Just stay focused. If everybody stays focused and runs their heart out every day like they should then I think we’ll be successful.
TALK ABOUT YOUR EVENT NOW; WHAT DO THINK IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET? WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? I like to try to keep people motivated. I’m not necessarily the best runner on the team but I like to make sure everybody has a positive mindset.
WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE ON IN PRACTICE? Speed days. When we have speed days, I like to push it pretty hard and hit the target times.
WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING TRACK AT BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE? Coach (Steve) Oury. He’s a great coach and such a good roll model. I just love everything about Coach Oury. He’s been great.
