WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? My plans after high school depend on who I sign with, I want to run in college so where I go is still up in the air. If I had to pick right now though I would want to attend Rhodes College and study abroad.
OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW HAVE THEY INFLUECED YOU? Other than my parents who have influenced me by far the most in my life, I would have to say, my little brothers. It’s a little cliche but they’re big motivators in my life and I love them to death.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT CROSS COUNTRY: Definitely, there’s nothing better than praying, singing, and chanting with them before a race, they’re my family.
WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH TO A RACE (Strategy/Preparation)? My approach to a race includes a lot of music to get in a good mindset. I get really serious. Then before the race I pray over the team in a huddle, we sing “Ain’t No Mountain High,” and we shout a loud Bryant pride.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? The season so far for me has been a rough one, but it’s just motivated me that much more, life is tough but I was raised to fight back.
WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON? The highlight of the season has definitely been getting to talk to college coaches and talking to them about recruitment, it’s very exciting.
AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING CROSS COUNTRY AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? I will remember all the lessons I learned as a runner, my teammates, Coach (Steve) Oury’s pep talks, and it doesn’t deal with cross country, but my track State title, the first ever for Bryant.
