WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? Go to college and get my degree. I’m going to U of A.
OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? I’d probably have to say recently it’s been Coach (Kirk) Bock; just getting my work ethic down and everything; the way he runs everything. He made me realize I can’t stay in that child stage forever. You’ve got to grow up and move on and the way he runs everything makes you grow up.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT BASEBALL: Being out here with the team and experiencing all this with everybody because you can’t get these years back.
POSITION: Pitcher
WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH ON THE MOUND? To throw strikes and fill the zone up and let my defense do the rest.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? I think it’s gone well. I think we’ve had a couple of rough spots that we didn’t hit as well as we needed to. We had some mess-ups but I think we’re good and I’m anxious to see what’s fixing to happen here coming up.
WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR (as of April 25)? Getting back and Midlothian. That was a big thing for me. I wanted to get back at them.
WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? We’re going to have to keep swinging it. All of our pitchers are going to have to keep throwing strikes and we’re going to have to keep working together as a team.
TALK ABOUT YOUR GAME: WHAT DO YOU FEEL MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? I’ve been able to fill the zone up pretty well this year. That’s what I’m most confident in right now, filling it up and letting my pitches work and do what I’m supposed to do.
WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE ON IN PRACTICE? Spotting up, for sure; with every single pitch, you’ve got to be able to spot up, to be successful out here.
AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING BASEBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? I’ll remember all the early morning practices and untarping in the cold.
