Roy Huddle sold Roberto Veta his original business location nine years ago off of the east bound access road before exit 123.
Veta and Sally Jasso, along with a dedicated staff, worked long days and nights to make Sally's Body Shop a success. Eventually, Huddle sold Veta a piece of land off of Roya Lane in Bryant and Thursday, the new location of Sally's Body Shop was featured by the Bryant Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony.[more]
"Robert and Sally got here 11 years ago and I owned all this property at that time," Huddle said. "They came to me and told me they wanted to start a body shop. They had just got in from California and we got together and came up with a price they could afford. They rented from me for eight or nine years and everything they said was true. They paid on the month and sometimes two months ahead."
Eventually, the city built Roya Lane and divided Huddle's property.
"So I had frontage over there and here too," Huddle said. "Robert asked me to sell him some of it and we agreed. He got a good price. There was $5,000 difference in what I wanted and what he wanted to give, so he said let's flip for it."
Veta and Jasso ended up buying the property on Roya Lane four years ago and, back in February, they started construction of their new shop.
"They decided they were ready to build and stay in Bryant," Huddle said.
Sally's Body Shop does all types of body work restoration on automobiles including painting with a 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed. The paints they use are not harmful to the ozone layer as some fumes can be. All of Sally's paints are water based.
The name Sally's came from Jasso, but by accident.
"I went to the Sherwin-Williams store to buy supplies and the guy said he needed a name so he could give us a discount," Jasso said. "I didn't have a name, so he said how about Sally's. Not too long after that, I went to the city to get our license and they asked what name do you want on it. Roberto didn't answer his phone, so I said Sally's and that's how we got it."
