Though the annual Mass Band night scheduled for the pre-game of the Bryant-Russellville football contest tonight has been cancelled due to the condition of the rain-soaked field and the threat for more during the game, the Legacy of Bryant High School band along with the bands from Benton High School, Bauxite High School and Harmony Grove High School were featured on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the 2009 Saline County Showcase. The event was planned to be a chance for each band to take the field at Bryant Stadium and perform its complete halftime show, the wet weather and soggy field forced them into the Bryant Middle School gym where each performed their show without the full marching exhibition.
The Bryant Band Boosters will still host their benefit Chili Dinner at the middle school cafeteria, starting at 4 p.m., prior to the Bryant-Russellville game. Chili and all the fixings for $5 adults, $3 children. (Photos courtesy of Tim Higgins) [more]
