BENTON — Habitat for Humanity of Saline County invites area residents to its Halloween Happening, “Totally 80’s Costume Party!” on Friday, Oct. 29. Local cover band, Big Stack, will be providing favorites from the 80’s and local celebrity, Mike Francis of KARK, will emcee the event.
In addition, Point 94.1 DJ’s Mike Kennedy and Sharpe Dunaway are the event’s celebrity costume judges. All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Saline County.
The event will take place from 6 until 11 p.m. at the VFW Post 2256, located on Sleepy Village Road off of Alcoa Exchange Road in Benton.[more]
There will be an auction as well with items that include a Cliff Lee autographed 2010 All-Star Game baseball; a Corliss Williamson autographed basketball; an Anthony Lucas autographed football; Chef’s tasting for two at Ferneau's Restaurant in the Heights; DJ for the day at the Point 94.1; and more.
Also, a competition will be held for the best 80’s costumes, with trophies being awarded to the winners. The categories for the contest are best male, best female, best couple, and most original 80’s costume.
Ticket prices are $50 per couple in advance and $30 per person at the door. Must be 21 years old to enter. Tickets on sale in advance at the following locations: the Restore in downtown Benton, the Benton Chamber of Commerce at the corner of N. Market and W. Carpenter St., and IBERIABANK fsb on Hwy 5 North in Bryant.
