The Riverdale Garden Club of Saline County is hosting a meeting Thursday, April 14, at the home of[more] Jimmie Lee Stephens, 811 NW 4th St., in Bryant.
The Club is in a chapter of the south central region of the Arkansas Federation Garden Club and they meet every second Thursday from September through May.
A held meeting consists of a guest speaker and tips for a better product. It gives those in attendance an opportunity to ask questions and hear what others have done or tried in their gardens. Members sometimes exchange plants, ideas, and general socialization.
“You never know what you’re going to learn,” said member Thelma Poole.
Subjects discussed in the past have been water conservation, flower arrangements, honeybees and daylilies. It is not limited to just flowers but vegetables as well.
The dues are $15 a year and portions of the proceeds go to the Heifer Project.
“You are never too old to learn something new everyday.” Poole said.
