NORTH LITTLE ROCK – Pulaski Technical College will break ground Friday, April 3, on a new Business Technology Center.A groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on the college’s main campus at 3000 West Scenic Drive in North Little Rock.
The new business technology center will house the college’s growing number of students who are pursuing training in business-related fields, including accounting, management and supervision, office technology, entrepreneurship, paralegal technology, law enforcement studies and medical office technology.
About 950 students are currently enrollment in business programs.[more]
The two-story, 20,405-square-foot center will house 10 multipurpose classrooms, conference and meeting rooms, faculty and staff offices, a student commons area and laboratories with the latest in instructional technology.
Construction is expected to take about 14 months with completion scheduled for mid-2010. Wittenberg, Delony & Davidson, Inc. is the project architect, and Matson Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project.
Keynote speakers will include Sam Walls III, president of the Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, and Jon Harrison, general manager of North American Motor Grader Operations for Caterpillar Inc. Other speakers include North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hays; Dr. Dan F. Bakke, college president; John Suskie, chair of the Pulaski Technical College Board of Trustees; Jim Harvey, chair of the Pulaski Technical College Foundation Board of Directors; and Augusta Farver, dean of business at Pulaski Technical College.
Pulaski Technical College is a comprehensive, two-year college that serves the educational needs of central Arkansas through more than 60 occupational/technical degree and certificate programs, a university-transfer curriculum and specialized programs for business and industry.
