Public performances of BHS production of ‘Grease’ are this weekend

Bryant High School’s drama group will be performing “Grease”, the musical by[more] Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The Pink Ladies and Thunderbirds of Rydell High School will take the Bryant High School stage beginning this Saturday, April 9, at 7 p.m., in the first of two public performances in Love Auditorium. The second public performance will be Sunday at 2 p.m.

They will also perform several morning shows beginning Thursday, April 7, through Wednesday, April 13, for the area schools.

The 1950’s musical is about the lives and loves of several Rydell High School seniors preparing for graduation day. Bryant High’s senior Mariah McElroy will play the role of Sandy and Jacob Brady, also a senior, will play Danny Zuko, her love interest.

The production is directed by drama instructor Rachel Arrington. According to Arrington, more than 40 students are part of the cast. Other students and teachers have also provided costumes, stage scenery, lighting and direction assistance.

Tickets for general admission are available for all performances and can be purchased at the door.
