David Miller was inspired to be a police officer from his father Ron who was in law enforcement for 15 years.
"Law enforcement has been in my family for quite some time," Miller said. "I've got great grandfathers who were Texas Rangers."
He has been working as a police officer for seven years and began as an assistant at the Saline County Sheriff's Department.
"Basically, I do it because I like helping people," Miller said. "I've always had a knack for it and when I got a taste of it, I was all about it."
After his 21st birthday, Miller worked in the jail at the Saline County Courthouse for six months before being promoted to supervisor. After 11 months as supervisor, Miller decided to change his career path.[more]
"I wanted to do something different, so I went to work with my family air conditioning business. In the meantime, I applied here and, on January 14, the Chief called me and asked me if I wanted a job."
In February of 2004, Miller became a Bryant Police officer.
"I certified I'd be loyal and seven years later, I'm sitting right here now," he said. "I can't do anything else. There is nothing else. I had four or five jobs since high school and this is one of them I can do. It's an adrenaline rush."
