The last item on the agenda at the final Bryant Planning Commission meeting of the year was to elect new officers.Current chairman[more] Lance Penfield's reign is over as of Dec. 31 of this year.
"I will make my speeches at that time," Penfield joked with the other members of the Commission.
Penfield has served as chairman of the Commission and will continue to be a member of the commission.
A final vote of all the commissioners on Friday resulted in the election of Jonathan Long as the new Commission chairman. Jim Erwin was elected as vice-chairman.
Both Long and Erwin have been long-time members of the commission panel and have served in making important decisions concerning the land usage of residential or commercial units within the city limits of Bryant.
One commissioner, Rob Roedel, will be leaving the commission for his newly elected seat on the Bryant City Council. Roedel's first council meeting is in January.
