The Bryant Hornets and Cabot Panthers golf teams have taken turns knocking each other off this season and, on[more] Tuesday, Sept. 20, it was Cabot’s turn to prevail in a three-team match at Hurricane Country Club.
Cabot finished with a team total of 150 over nine holes, one stroke better than the Hornets. The Bryant JV team turned in a score of 162 to finish third ahead of 7A/6A-Central Conference rival North Little Rock at 174.
Bryant’s Tyler Green and Cabot’s Parker Pearson tied for individual medalist honors with one-under par 35’s. Green had birdies on the second and third hole but bogeyed the par-3 fourth. A birdy on seven was negated by a bogey on eight to keep him at one-under. Pearson had four birdies and three bogeys.
Cabot Arthur West finished at even par 36 with Bryant’s Austin Harmon turning in a one-over 37. That proved to be the difference as Bryant’s Nick Canale matched another Cabot player’s 39 and Ashton Green had a 40 for the Hornets to match Cabot’s Austin Huggins to complete each team’s scoring quartet.
For the Hornets, Chase Thornton carded a 42 to complete the varsity scores.
For the JV team, Gary Williamson turned in a round of 39 while Mark Winn finished at 40. Nick Jenkins finished at 41 and Allen Humbard at 42 to complete the scoring group. Luke Brantley shot 46, Logan Moore 47, and Ross Weaver 48 on the day.
The Hornets host a regular-season match on Thursday, Sept. 22. Next Monday, the Lady Hornets begin play in the State tournament at Fayetteville Country Club. The boys host another match on Thursday, Sept. 29, then go to State in Fayetteville, Oct. 3-5.

Nothing on the girl’s golf scores for 9/20? You don’t even mention that they played (same time and place as the boys) much less scores.
