Bryant Hornets track coach Steve Oury and senior John Winn will be among those honored at the annual All-Arkansas Preps, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. They will be among 300 of the best high school athletes and coaches from across the state in nine sports to be honored for their work during the 2014-15 school year at a banquet on June 20. Dick Vitale will be the guest speaker.
Oury was named Track Coach of the Year for leading the Hornets to their first Class 7A State championship behind individual champions Winn in the 400, Steven Murdock (200), Brenden Young (hurdles) and a record-setting 4 x 400 relay that included those three and teammate Pierce Finney. The quartet broke a Meet of Champs record set in 1977. Winn was named to the 2014-15 All-Arkansas Preps boys track team.
