The Bryant Hornets junior varsity team scored on the ground, in the air and on special teams but it wasn’t enough to out-score the North Little Rock Charging Wildcats’ JV Monday night at Hornets Stadium. North Little Rock surged to a 28-21 win.
“The defense played a good game,” said Bryant coach Clint Shadwick. “But the offense couldn’t give much help. The kids played hard but we ran out of juice late.”
Cameron Coleman did much of the damage on one of Bryant’s scoring drives. He capped off the march with a 1-yard TD plunge. Later, junior quarterback Jaret Jones tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Moody.
The special teams score came when Moody blocked a punt and Dustin Bishop scooped and scored.
Next Monday, the Bryant JV team will travel to Hot Springs Lakeside while the sophomore team hosts the Bauxite junior varsity.
