School record holder Melinda Murdock and sophomore Charlie Terry will be representing Bryant High School and the state of Arkansas in the 20th annual Arkansas/Oklahoma high school cross country all-star invitational meet this Saturday, Nov. 16, at Rogers High School.
Murdock, who set a new BHS mark of 19:17 at the Class 7A State meet on Saturday, Nov. 9, finished fourth to lead the Lady Hornets. Terry was the top runner for the Hornets at the State meet, finishing in a personal best time of 16:17 to take sixth overall.
Both earned all-State honors and invitations to run in the all-star meet, which pits the top 25 from each state. The Arkansas team is coached by Lake Hamilton’s Karl Koonce, the meet director, and Bryant’s Steve Oury and Danny Westbrook.
The girls’ race will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the boys’ race following at noon.
