CABOT — Morgan Morehead and Savannah Cathey each qualified individually for the second day of play at the Class 7A State girls golf championship at Greystone Country Club on Tuesday.
Bryant just missed the cut for advancing to the final round of team competition on Wednesday.[more]
Morehead advanced with an 18-hole round of 97. Cathey shot a 110. Those scores will be added to Wednesday’s rounds to provide the total for the individual competition.
Bryant’s Kyanne Lawrence carded a round of 129 with Carley Miller finishing at 131. Caitlin Lawson turned in a 135.
The top three scores went toward the team total of 336, three strokes behind Cabot which garnered the sixth and final slot to qualify for the second day of team competition.
After the first day, Fayetteville was leading at 237. Conway was second at 269 followed by Fort Smith Southside at 314, Springdale Har-Ber at 317, Rogers at 329 then Cabot.
Bryant led the second group. The Lady Hornets finished just ahead of Springdale (340), Little Rock Central (352), Bentonville (363) and Rogers Heritage (417).
