Within the next fiscal year, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department[more] will begin an expansion project on Arkansas Highway 5 in Bryant. And on Nov. 14, leaders and property owners within Bryant and its business district met with Bryant mayor Jill Dabbs to discuss possible improvements through this corridor of the highway when the AHTD project begins.
Twenty-four attended the presentation "envisioning Stagecoach Road."
"I want to encourage Bryant to be informed of how this project could enhance the quality of life and spur economic development along this very important Bryant corridor," Dabbs said.
Now a public discussion on the project has been planned. Dabbs will be at Luigi’s Pizza and Pasta on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. to host the discussion prior to the AHTD public hearing.
The Highway Department will hold its meeting on Dec. 4 at the First Pentecostal Church on Highway 5 from 4 to 7 p.m.
