The Bryant Police Department received a 911 call of a female that had been struck by a white pickup truck in the parking lot of Target. The pickup that was driven by Marcus Dorsey (39) was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the accident. A Target store team member who witnessed the incident followed the truck into the Greens Apartments across the street from the store, where he was able to give Bryant Officers information on locating and apprehending the suspect. With help from the Arkansas State Police, Dorsey was taken into custody without incident.
The victim, a 20 year old white female from the Benton area sustained severe injuries and was transported from the scene by Baptist Med Flight. Her condition at this time is unknown.
The suspect, Marcus Dorsey, was transported to the Bryant PD, where he was interviewed by investigators.
At this time Dorsey is being charged with First Degree Battery and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury. More charges may be pending.
