According to athletic director Tom Farmer, the Bryant High School basketball games[more] at Van Buren on Tuesday, Feb. 8, will be moved up an hour in hopes of getting the teams home before the winter weather that is expected arrives.
Van Buren’s trip to Bryant for 7A/6A-Central Conference games have been weathered out three times and has now been scheduled for Monday, Feb. 14 with varsity games starting at 6 p.m.
With weather threatening this Friday’s home games against Russellville, a make-up date for the possible cancellation has been set for Monday, Feb. 21.
The Bryant teams will make up home games against Little Rock Catholic and Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday, Feb. 19 with a JV girls game starting at 3 and the varsity girls then varsity boys to follow.
A wrestling tournament which will include all the conference schools will be held at the Bryant Middle School gym as well as the State indoor track meet at Fayetteville are scheduled for Feb. 19.
The Bryant freshman basketball teams are set to travel to Conway tonight then host a make-up game against Lake Hamilton on Tuesday. The eighth grade action on Tuesday has been cancelled and the freshman girls game will begin at 5 p.m., with the boys to follow.
The conference tournament for the freshmen teams, which will be held at Benton, is scheduled to start with preliminary games on Thursday. If they are postponed, they’ll be played on Saturday morning when the rest of the tournament was set to begin.
