HOT SPRINGS — Playing at Hot Springs County Club, the Hot Springs Lakeside golf teams earned[more] top honors in a three-way golf match. Bryant was second and Benton third in both the boys and the girls competitions.
Lakeside’s boys combined for a score of 290 over 18 holes. Bryant finished at 325, Benton at 333.
In the girls’ competition, Lakeside’s scoring trio recorded a score of 130 over nine holes. Bryant finished at 149, Benton at 156.
The girls were set to play 18 as well but they ran out of sunlight.
Austin Harmon and Tyler Green continued to set the pace for the Hornets. Both turned in rounds of two-over 78. Ashton Green carded an 84 and Chase Thornton turned in a round of 85 to complete the scoring group. Ross Weaver finished at 90.
For the girls, Peyton Weaver’s 44 led the way with Savanna Cathey only a stroke behind her teammate at 45. Kaylee Newell shot a 60 to complete the scoring trio. Carley Miller finished with a round of 62.
Bryant is set to play at Conway on Monday, Sept. 12.
