CABOT — The Bryant Lady Hornets earned three individual event victories at the Cabot Walmart Invitational Tuesday night as they took runner-up honors in the team competition.
Cabot won the meet with 124 points with Bryant taking second with 89 points. LR Parkview was third with 67 points followed by Conway (59) and Jonesboro (42). There were 14 teams in the competition.
Bryant’s victories came in the high jump, 200-meter dash, and the 4×800 relay.
Haley Hood won the high jump with at leap of 5’1″. Feniece Boone won the 200-meter dash with a state qualifying time of 25.43. The 4×800 team consisting of Caitlyn Bell, Hannah Shelby, Rachel Curtis, and Talyn Billins won with a time 10:22.

“I am happy with how we competed since we are just coming off of spring break,” commented Lady Hornets coach Danny Westbrook. “The meet was cut short because of the weather and, along with the fact that we are nursing some injuries, we could have scored several more points. I think we could have made the team score at lot closer.”
Some of the Lady Hornets will run this Thursday in Russellville and others will compete at Hot Springs Lakeside. The next full meet for them will be the Wampus Cat Relays in Conway on Monday, April 9.
