After over two weeks of preparations, the Bryant Lady Hornets will take their practice to the court when[more] they participate in a benefit pre-season jamboree at Benton this evening.
The team opens the 2012 season officially on Tuesday, Aug. 21, with a match in Russellville against the Van Buren Pointerettes.
The Lady Hornets feature a group of seniors who contributed in varying degrees to a strong season in 2011 in which the team went 10-4 in the 7A/6A-Central Conference and earned a number two seed at the Class 7A State Tournament.
At the Benton event, games will be played to 25 or 25 minutes, whichever comes first.
The Lady Hornets will open in Cook Fieldhouse against Little Rock Christian at 5:30 p.m., following up with a match-up against former Central Conference rival Mount St. Mary Academy at 6.
After a break, the Lady Hornets and Lady Panthers of Benton will tangle at 7 p.m., in Benton Arena. Bryant wraps up the day at 8:30 with a match against Malvern in the Arena, followed by a final contest against Little Rock Mills at 9 in Cook Fieldhouse.
