SILOAM SPRINGS — The Bryant Lady Hornets made the four-hour bus trip to Siloam Springs on a school night and still came within a few points of winning over the Lady Panthers on Tuesday.
Bryant won two of the first three sets but, a win away from victory, got edged out in a five-game match 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, 13-15.
“The girls played well after a long bus right,” acknowledged Bryant coach Lawrence Jefferson. “It was a heartbreaker.”
Allie Anderson came through with 20 kills for the Lady Hornets. Britney Sahlmann had 29 assists and Whitney Brown recorded 42 digs.
The game, though in the conference, has no impact on the Lady Hornets post-season. They’ll be a number three seed from the Central. They’ll open the Class 7A State Tournament in Fayetteville on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m., against the host team, the third seed from the West.
