London Abernathy scored 14 points and Kayla Sory 12 to lead the Bryant Lady Hornets Junior Varsity team to a 52-40 win over the Cabot JV on Friday night.

Cabot led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter. The lead seesawed in the second quarter until, Sory nailed a 3 with 3:21 left in the first half to erase a 13-12 deficit.
Bryant led 18-16 before closing out the half with a 9-2 run that started with a basket by Barker. Sory made a steal and Stearns grabbed an offensive rebound and scored. After Laci Boyett hit two free throws for Cabot, Hogancamp flushed a 3 and Neal drove for a layup to make it 27-18 at the break.
It was 29-18 early in the second half then Hogancamp hit a 12-foot jumper and, Abernathy made a steal and fed Brittney Ball. Though she was unable to get her shot to fall, Lee was there for the stickback to bump the lead to 13.
Before the end of the quarter, Cabot trimmed the margin to 35-27 but, again, the Lady Hornets closed the quarter well. Barker knocked down a 10-footer then made a steal that Abernathy cashed in with a baseline jay. After Bryant got the ball on a duel possession, Sory beat the buzzer with a jumper from the wing to make it 41-27 going into the final period.
Jessie Grunwald hit the first basket of the fourth quarter but then Abernathy scored from the baseline again and Neal converted two free throws to give the Lady Hornets' their largest lead at 45-29 with 5:28 to go.
Cabot whittled the margin down to 10 twice. Both times, Abernathy preserved the double-digit lead with 3-pointers and the Lady Hornets closed out the win.
