PEARCY — The Lake Hamilton Lady Wolves junior varsity took advantage of a pair of Bryant JV miscues with two down in the second inning to plate three runs and that proved enough for a 3-1 win in four innings.
Carly Yazza was the hard-luck pitcher for the Lady Hornets. In three innings, she only allowed two hits. She walked two and struck out four.[more]
Bryant’s lone run came in the third. Ashlynn Lessenberry was hit by a pitch, advanced to second then third on consecutive passed balls, then scored on Hollie Hill’s base hit down the left-field line.
The Lady Hornets loaded the bases in the third with two down. Brooke Howell cracked a liner that was speared by the Lake Hamilton second baseman to rob her of an RBI hit, ending the inning.
In the fourth, the Lady Hornets made one more bid to cut into the lead when Stephanie Cyz singled to left and stole second. But she too was stranded.
