LITTLE ROCK — After opening the 2012 schedule with three straight losses, the Bryant Lady Hornets junior[more] varsity volleyball team has now won five in a row. The latest victory was a 3-0 sweep (25-5, 25-6, 25-9) at Arkansas Baptist Thursday night.
“The girls played really well,” stated Bryant head coach Beth Solomon. “Madison Greeno had a great night and started game one out for us with a 12 point serving streak.”
Greeno was 23 of 26 on her serves with a whopping 13 aces. Erica Smith was good on 10 of 11 serves with seven aces as the Lady Hornets knocked down 27 aces in the match as a team.
Smith, Emily Henson, Aubree Allen and Rylee Phillips each had three kills, Mariah Aguilar two. Mercedes Dillard led with six assists.
The JV team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at home against El Dorado. The varsity plays that night as well but also will compete in a tournament in Russellville this Saturday.
