Research the history of Bryant’s Women’s Basketball. The story my dad told me was my mother, Melba Jean Wilson, went to the school board in the late 60’s or early 70’s to push for a Girls Basketball Team. They did get one but, they could not practice in the gym. So, they had to practice on the parking lot. They would only be allowed to play 1/2 court ball, and no paid Coach. My mom coached the 1st year.
I’ve tried to find yearbooks from those years to confirm, but have not. There may be OLD MICROFILM that could give you more info.
