On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the halls of Hurricane Creek Elementary will be transformed into exhibition spaces featuring over 500 entries, with work from each of the school’s students on display.
“Each class worked on a different project and used several different mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and more,” said Amber Uptigrove, Art Specialist at Hurricane Creek. “Many projects are based on works or techniques from famous artists.”
New this year is the addition of the Artmobile, which features themed exhibitions of works from the Arkansas Arts Center’s permanent collection. This year features “The Art of Story.”
This is the second year for Art Walk, sponsored by the Hurricane Creek PTO. Parents and community members are invited to celebrate the students’ art collection and visit the Artmobile beginning at 6 p.m. Light snacks and music will be provided to enhance the experience.
“The children’s talent and passion is inspiring,” said Tammie Reitenger, Hurricane Creek principal. “They have worked hard to create unique pieces for the Art Walk, and we are excited to showcase these young artists.”
The event is free to the public.
