LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets seventh grade team of Bethel Middle School was denied the championship of the Anthony School tournament Thursday by the host team, 26-18.
The Lady Panthers broke out to a 10-2 lead in the first quarter and the Lady Hornets were unable to make up the ground. It was 14-6 at the half, 22-8 going into the fourth quarter.
Mary Catherine Selig finished with 7 points to lead Bethel. Allysa Fason finished with 5, Lauren Burnett 3 and Ashlyn Thompson 2.
The Lady Hornets are scheduled to play again in the Wildcat Shootout at Little Rock Episcopal starting Monday, Dec. 3.
