LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Hornets wrestling team went 4-1 and finished third at the McClellan Invitational Duals Tournament on Saturday.
The Hornets were led by Gage Pearson in the 106-pound weight class, Darren Williams in the 138-pound division, and Landon Smith in the 170-pound class. Each earned the outstanding wrestler award for their respective weight classes as voted on by the coaches at the tournament.
Bryant opened the tourney with team wins over Central Arkansas Christian and Bismarck. A loss to Greenbrier put Bryant in the losers bracket where they finished up by defeating Benton and Maumelle.
The BHS team is set to travel to Conway on Tuesday for a match against the Wampus Cats and the Catholic Rockets of Little Rock. On Thursday, Bismarck visits Bryant for a dual match.
