Wesley Peters scored 20 points including 12 in the fourth quarter and 3 more in overtime as the Bryant Hornets junior varsity team earned a 57-55 victory Friday night.
The Hornets overcame a deficit that was 20-9 after a quarter and 27-21 at the half. It was 37-34 going into the fourth quarter and tied 50-50 at the end of regulation.
Ketrick Wilson added 9 points, all in the second half. Antavious Lewis and Austin Green finished with 8 apiece. Desmond Duckworth had 6, all in the first quarter. Clay Ingold and Dagin Carden pitched in with 4 each.
Dee Jones paced Texas High with 12. Nero Lane added 10.
“These kids have showed a lot of determination in winning their last two games,” said Bryant assistant coach Steve Wilson. “They stepped up when they had to.”
Now 2-1, the Hornets JV will play next at home against Cabot on Jan. 6.
