Tyler Green had two hits and an RBI and[more] pitched three innings of one-hit ball as the Bryant Hornets junior varsity played to a 2-2 tie with their counterparts from Watson Chapel Thursday night.
Green rippled a two-out triple to drive in Marcus Wilson who had walked with one out in the bottom of the fifth to forge the tie. Green, however was stranded at third with the winning run.
The game was scoreless through three innings then Bryant took a 1-0 lead in the home fourth. Hayden Daniel singled to left, stole second then third as Ozzie Hurt drew a walk. A passed ball allowed Daniel to score.
Chapel strung together four singles and a walk in the top of the fifth to grab a 2-1 lead. But Bryant relieved induced a double-play ball to get out of the inning with the bases juiced.
That set up the tying uprising in the bottom of the inning.
The Hornets JV is set to play at Lake Hamilton after the 1 p.m. varsity game, weather permitting.
