The Bryant Hornets freshman team improved to 2-0 in conference play with a 40-28 win over the Cabot North Panthers on[more] Saturday morning.
Mitch Scoggins and Greyson Giles combined for 21 points for Bryant.
Head coach Steve Wilson said, “I thought everyone played well. We continued to play very unselfish. There was a lot of good passing.”
The team includes Phillip Barnett, Dakota Besancon, Chase Christie, Brandon Cranford, Cedarrian Crosby, Evan Davis, Trevor Ezell, Greyson Giles, T.J. Hall, Austin Hammonds, Hunter Holder, Matt Jernigan, Spencer Kilgore, Slade Lewis, Madre London, Dylan Masters, Davis Nossaman, Gray Orman, Garrett Phillips, C.J. Rainey, Brian Reed, Mitchell Scoggins and Caleb Strain.
The Hornets piled up a 12-4 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 22-5 advantage at the half. It was 33-17 going into the fourth quarter.
Strain added 5 points, Ezell 4, Hall and Reed 3 each. Rainey and Crosby pitched in 2 points apiece.
The Hornets, now 10-8 overall, take on non-conference foe Lake Hamilton tonight. It’ll be the third meeting between the two teams. At home, the Hornets hope to avenge the previous two losses.
They’ll return to conference play on Thursday at Conway White.
